WHOO! Made a big deadline, so I celebrated today by sitting down and translating 8(!!!) pages of the Suikoden I Soul Eater novel! Nice!! We're moving on to the Neclord arc?! There's also a bunch of manga and doujinshi I'd love to translate more of someday, but have no time to typeset these days. If you're interested in helping typeset any projects like the Suikoden V manga (for example) or Final Fantasy / Xenogears doujinshi, etc., feel free to email me at rinuzuki@gmail.com! I recently found out you can use Gimp to typset for free and don't even need to bother with Photoshop!

GUYS! I miss translating for fun so bad! There are some projects I would absolutely love to sit down and work on to share with y'all... but with big deadlines coming up mid-November and early December, I guess that might not happen soon. I'll do my best to meet those goals, and then maybe I can translate something for fun someday as a reward!

Happy Saturday! The final two chapters of volume 2 of the Suikoden I Soul Eater novel! Woohoo!!! Looks like I posted the first page of volume 2 on Jan 1st, 2017, so uh... that was about 7 years (!) give or take of translating on and off. Well, there's something to be said for persistence! Slow and steady, yadda yadda. However long it takes, it's been fun and a good exercise in translation. Now on to the final volume, volume 3...! Whooo!

Happy Wednesday! Here's a cute little FF7 doujinshi "Snowflake Dance" by Torizono about Aeris and Tifa kicking butt! I scanned it in one day, and translated and typeset it in GIMP over the course of two days... still got it.
Turns out GIMP works just as well for scanslating as Photoshop. And it's freeeeee!!!! ; w ; Amazing. Only thing that's harder to do is SFX, so I just skipped 'em lol. Translated four more pages of the Suikoden I Soul Eater novel. Getting chapter 17 started! It's all about Soniere prison. Really ... exciting stuff. About hallways. ... ALSO! I discovered I have some more completed scanslation files I apparently never sorted out. So I've got to remember to do that, to better back them up for when the download links inevitably die. I wanted to upload things to mangadex for safekeeping, but have gotten errors the last few times I tried.

Still not dead yet! ;D Taking a quick break from real life to pop out pages 120-121 of the Suikoden Soul Eater novel. Getting to sit and listen to the rain fall outside and just work on my own projects and think (a little bit) about all the Japanese grammar I've been studying recently feels like quite a treat. Ukemi, Shieki, and Shieki-ukemi! I'll get these three down one of these days... lots of examples of "ukemi" (passive) forms of verbs in these two pages, for anyone also studying who might want to puzzle through them with me. Anyhow, stay golden!

Dreaming of having time to translate for fun, so I snuck in translating and typesetting a single page of the Suikoden V Anthology manga (v3, chapter 13). Maybe I'll manage another page in six months! Ha ha ... wanted to pop in the next two pages of the Suikoden Soul Eater novel, but, well... there's other work to be done!

Happy April, everybody! Even though these translations of Colette Decides to Die aren't a joint project with Ramsus-kun, I've decided to list at least this chapter in the Ramsus-kun release list because I'm really proud and happy to be working on this series. (I really hope it can get an official English release one day and get the recognition it deserves!) I also just want to show something for 2021 haha~ The link might die later, but with MangaDex down, the scanslations are now up on Baoto, I believe. I want a way to easily back up all the English scanslations of Colette. :x Hmm. Apparently over the past year, I translated chapters 47~67! That's pretty amazing for Ramsus-kun!!

Wow, when was the last time Ramsus-kun released multiple scanslations in a single month?! In honor of pure escapism, I threw myself into translating this doujinshi! It's a Suikoden I doujinshi by Miggy and Irie Ari (aka Irie Aki!!!) two of the coolest artists out there. Any stories with the McDohl family and/or Odessa just get me every time. This was drawn back in 2001 (and I picked it up in Japan in 2013 for maybe $10). That means... it's been nearly 20 years since they drew this. How crazy is that? Well, it's a good kinda crazy. (Also, was 2016 really the last time I released a Suikoden doujinshi scanslation? Time flies way too fast, my friends.) I hope you all love this book as much as I do, and please go support Aki Irie by purchasing her manga available in English! I also threw another two pages of the Suikoden I Soul Eater novel translation up. Stay safe, warm, and well~

Also, after about a year of gathering dust while I busted my brains pursuing my MA, here's two more pages of the Suikoden I Soul Eater novel, risen from the grave! (Where it will likely lay back down to sleep for the next 11 months.) Not listed as an official joint project with Ramsus-kun or anything, but I'm doing some translations of the manga Colette Decides to Die (コレットは死ぬことにした) by Yukimura Alto, a shojo manga I've fallen completely head over heels for. Chapter 47 is out now from Träumerei Scans, with more to come! <3 Please give it a read if you like heartwarming, silly, charming, slow romances. I'll probably be concentrating on that and other non-scanslation translation projects for awhile. Thanks to everyone who's said kind words about the Suikoden translations and the like! I would also like to pick back up the Soul Eater novel translations this summer... but am also trying not to have too many things on my plate at once. (Hah.) We'll see how that goes!

Whew... now I think all the doujinshi sections are up to date with images and links. Got the Breath of Fire doujinshi section back online and added back to the "projects" section. Also finally located the scans for the old Harry Potter doujinshi "A Map in Pocket" and got those uploaded, and reuploaded the Lord of the Rings doujinshi "Huntsman Chapter 3". Reuploaded all Naruto doujinshi. Xenogears good to go. ...How have I only done three Xenogears doujinshi?! ...I guess it's because they tend to be much more complicated and challenging than, say, Suikoden... ;-D

WOOHOO! Got the Suikoden doujinshi section all updated, so all images and links should work now. Pretty weird, but the Suikoden I doujinshi "Jyokan" by 2D Corps was missing from the list of completed Suikoden doujinshi, so I got that added back in and the download is working too. Man. Some of these artists I just love too much! If anyone has work they want to scan by Migi, 酒と肴 Sake to Sakana / Hayashi (who did that Roy x Lyon doujin I've got up), Wind*Space (who did Ara Rangi)... drop me a line at RinUzuki@gmail.com ! Who's excited for the FFVII remake release? (And those low-poly figures! Be still my heart...) I managed to steal some free time, so please enjoy this Final Fantasy VII doujinshi from 1997 with lovely old-school art I can't get enough of, "LIMIT BREAK"! I spent time yesterday scanning, cleaning and translating this, and I spent maybe way too long typesetting it today. Just to show I've still got it! (And also that it's easier to do all that than it is to go through and try to fix all the images and links on Ramsus-kun, haha... hmm.) Anyhow, enjoy! <3 P.S. Happy Valentine's day, folks! Bought myself a Japanese copy of the old Playstation 1 videogame "Azure Dreams" and scanned in the Japanese booklet for everyone to enjoy. If that's your jam, you can download the PDF here! I'd like to sit down and actually translate it all someday. Does anyone know if that's already been done?

Heyo! Happily bringing you the next section of the D'arc manga! Badly in need of more proofreading for consistency, but at this point I figure it's better to get something out there then nothing! This project will be on hold, awaiting more scans, before translation can continue. Another huge thanks to Samara for taking on this typesetting project, too! As well as to Mat and Laika for all their assistance, and to Mars for scanning it in the first place. Attempted to upload the chapter to MangaDex but site's having bandwidth issues. Feel free to upload it there if anyone gets the chance. Thanks to those who signed the guestbook to let me know links are down or chapters are missing in older projects. WOOHOO!! Kodansha has announced an official release of Witch Hat at last! So chapter 15 will be our last scanslation of this marvelous series. Please support Witch Hat and Shirahama-sensei both by buying the books when they come out in English! I've included PNGs of the rough translated script for chapters 16 and 17 in the direct download, too, for anyone who would like to read them. Chapter 17 is an especially good one. I'll be removing all links and downloads for Witch Hat mid-July, and ask that all other sites hosting these scanslations do the same, out of respect for the English-language publishers.
